Lake was established in 1939 and has become one of Kansas
City North’s most popular exclusive places to
live. The lake area was initially a recreation spot
for relaxing, boating and fishing, but expanded as more
and more residents chose to make their Weatherby Lake
homes their primary residence. In 1970, Weatherby Lake
became a city.
Part of its attraction is the diverse
style of architecture and home prices. The Lake offers
homes ranging from simple ranches to castle type mansions
situated right on the lake or on the second or third
tier.
“You have to live here to really
know the true value of being in a community where you
are part of a whole, yet can play where you live, be
near a major airport and very close to downtown and
the Plaza,” explains Linda Cone, Lake resident.
“It’s a place I’ve called home since
1986 and I intend to retire here.”
The lifestyle at Weatherby Lake is
full of community events like progressive dinners, brunch
time sailboat cruises, social clubs, a yacht club, and
holiday events like a professional fireworks display
on July 4th.
